Completed the Voodoo Sobo frame first pass 6 months ago using brakes and drive from a Scott Scale 50, Truvativ BB and cranks from a Norco DH frame, new Taiwanese carbon disc fork. chain guard and Avid non-centrelock rotors from an old e-bikes, new Spinergy PBO Enduro 29er disc wheels, seatpost and seat is a 27.2 shared between bikes,

Took it out again for 1st day of Spring (take 2 for Perth), lunch time photoshoot by the river was beautiful, rode across the road in plain clothes and sunnies without helmet/gloves/cycle gear on this style bike just feel like a big intellectually disabled kid again =D (It was in a deserted kids playground)

New additions are a new-ish B17 Special on the 27.2 shared seatpost (Roubaix and Fat Sand Bike also use it), a 38c Schwalbe Marathon Plus at 55psi on front taking out the road vibration through the bars (that the Roubaix Zertz do with 23mm tyres and the Fat Sand Bike does with 4 inch tyres ;), and 32c Kenda Tendril at 65psi in the rear for some mental assistance for spinning the cranks easier.

Here's a couple pics, click for the gallery with a few more in between.

I thought I had too much steerer sticking out.

Having spent the last 10 odd years with mountain bikes, I wanted something a bit more practical for general fitness and long rides, so I got 2014 Defy1 a few months back.

Upgrade bug did not take long;
-105 brakes, cassette and pedals (all upgraded from no-name/non-series stuff)
-Selle SLX Saddle (Giant one was rubbish)
-Schwalbe Ultremo Tyres

This is my three week old Merida Matts 40 which I have ridden a handful of times since buying it, mostly at Sydney Olympic Park with my wife and three kids. I am looking forward to riding it in the Spring Cycle in a few weeks time.

Nice... Now you make sure that upgraditis doesn't get a real good hold of you.
Cos you've only just scratched the surface.
Enjoy!

Thanks jason.. yeah I might rock the dork disk and reflectors for a while

Surprised to see "Made in Germany" listed on the bike, used to seeing Made in Taiwan (Perhaps that's a misleading way of saying assembled in Germany)

The little car is certainly a fun runabout

Actually Focus does build their frames in Germany. Another reason why I like them.

Are they easy to use? I like the concept but think it'll be tricky trying to get it close enough for the magnets to take over. Whereas with a traditional cage, the 'contact' area is a lot bigger and harder to miss... No?

Never had a problem with them they just get pulled straight on when in range, very secure.
Most rides I don't bother with water at all, so the bike looks cleaner.

Yeah, pretty foolproof. Replacement bottles can be hard to source though.

I've had the frame for a few months, but only recently acquired the last of the components.

Gorgeous bike mate. Did you ride it with a carbon seatpost before installing the ti one? i've got a Litespeed frame and the same fork, but i've got an EC90 setback seatpost. Mine soaks up the bumps and is noticeably less buzzy than other bikes I ride beside. I was wondring what advantage the ti seatpost might offer. It looks excellent, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice comfort by changing to one.
