I guess someone has to stop them falling :-)

Had a great ride today, even the countless molestations by magpies could not spoil my enjoyment :-).

Great effort today Grant. I managed to snag a few mag-stukas in my travels also - cheeky buggers.

Morwell to Glenmaggie Hcap tomorrow - hopefully the weather will hold off!

cheers

Other than the odd commute, i bought my 1st road bike at Easter this year, & haven't looked back. I just came across this thread, & thought i'd check Strava to see how many km's i've chalked up this year. Strangely enough i passed 6000KM today!

Great shots Lewy, love the tilt shift effect in the first one especially.

A modest week from a trip away which limited the opportunities. Still, I now have only 67km to my 2013 target. Prolly looking at Wednesday arvo. Yay!

I see that the weather has been a little kinder while I was away so I trust that everyone else had big week. Hopefuly it will stay kind just for me.

Nice to see people getting out for some good rides. Pretty ordinary ride for me today, back a bit sore from too much gardening yesterday & was even slower that usual, even with the wind at my back. Could only just manage 35km.

I took the mtb out this morning, didn't go far or hard but geez I enjoyed myself, kept getting flashbacks to when I was 10 and riding my Speedwell Mustang Dragster through various overgrown vacant lots near home. Great fun.

Only 2 weeks for even more fun :D

I have tomorrow off so I may take the SS MTB out for a few hours.

I was not as close as I thought - I really must stop glancing at my meter and doing mental gymnastics with it.

I expect to hit the annual target around the weekend or Monday. After that I guess I need to adjust my sights.

I see grantw is also well ahead of schedule and on the cusp of his target. With around 12 weeks to go! Breezer1 is almost as close.

Who else is close to the mark? Say, a week or two away?

I was chasing last years total originally (6740) though things have been going well and reassessed my target mid year. I reckon I'll need to change up again before too long but that might get me evicted from the 6k club :-( .

I started the year with the goal of 6k, then amended it to 9k, but now looks like I'll be out of here in the next week or so - at about 9750Km at present. I went out for a ride today and did a bit of a climb, which simply told me that I need a day or two off the bike - very sore legs. I'll take tomorrow off and see how I feel Friday - the local bunch ride is a very steady recovery ride that morning, so I may go along and turn the legs over.

It is good to see people well on-track to meet their goals - as well as the fantasic scenery shots that have been taken.

cheers

You guys need to swap to miles, that'll buy you a little more time in the 6000s :)

This month is going along nicely. Enjoying the summery weather and as my training has ramped up this morning's ride took me past the 6999m climbed target for the month, as far as I can remember that's the earliest in the month I've managed that. Stopped for a quick pic on the ride again this morning...

Great ride Shane.

With the FANTASTIC (albeit windy) weather here today, I had a blast at the club's teams race. I managed to hang on and finish first in my group and 11th overall - don't get excited, only 25 riders! The racing is certainly taking me to a higher level, although, I do have to be mindful of getting proper recovery, lest I fall in a hole like I did last week.

Keep up the good rides all.

cheers

I rode with some people from the Isle of Man yesterday. Sadly they didn't see any similarity in my riding to anyone they knew.
