Spring has been dormant at home with parents for a decade, now finally out in the real world =D
It seems it's not really climate change but this minor trend in young adults of developed countries shifting Earth's weather patterns.

Meh. I hate this weather/time of year.

Too many people in general, and too many people riding like idiots trying to make up for 6 months off the bike.

Bring back cold, wet, windy winter when there's no one on the paths. That's my favourite time of year.

Elstado- I love this time of year for all the reasons you state. Makes me feel better as I can see the result of all the wet/windy/cold days commuting etc. Plus better chances of running the Magpie Gauntlet as there are many heads to chose from. And don't forget CCR action.

Anyway never fear the carpy weather is returning tonight

This has been a big issue on the PSP heading east out of the city. So many cyclists. So little skill/care.

I would go as far to say its an issue on the main N/S/E PSP's in general - insufficient investment in cycling infrastructure by successive governments and increase in cycling popularity. Imagine if fuel was $2/L or the AUD was at long term averages vs the USD I think cycling would be even more popular.

Beautiful day. And some company at last - lots of riders back on the roads again.

Now Perth just needs daylight saving to allow me to add an evening ride after I get home when the urge arises. :?

If you like to ride to work in the dark I guess... :?

I thought this morning was quite average... or maybe that was just me :?

Yeh I don't like this for the same reason, I love riding in the morning with light, I get sick of cold and dark.

This morning was one of the reasons I love living in Perth. Sensational and not too windy.
Starting to get lighter earlier as well. Best time of the day. Sorry Colin but you can't convince me to swap the dawn for the evening :-)

It was just a throwaway. :) Daylight saving is moot in WA.

But out of curiosity, what time do you guys leave?

If you are leaving any later than 6:20 atm then daylight saving would not place you in the dark. ATM the sun rises at 5:45 but it is light well before then - say Civil Twilight which is around 25 minutes before that. By the end of the month it will rise at 5:20 and Civil Twilight before 5:00. A month later Civil Twilight is 4:30'ish.

Indeed I have my headlight on flasher from the moment I leave (between 5:30 and 5:45) as there is no longer any point in using it for illumination.

Yep - that'll put you in the dark for much of a daylight saving summer.

Looks like we'll have to put up with this disgustingly good weather for at least another week. Just in time to be finally back to full health and so happy to be able to give it 'full gas' as Henk would say.
