It does - I'd guessa around 700-800 hrs a year. However, by my estimate Cavebear2 does considerably more hours - probably 50% more. Maybe even more than that!sblack wrote:Well done Colin, I know it takes you a lot more hours to get those km up than those of us with two wheels.
...
I'm sure that there are others too. Anyone can jump on here and let us know.

edit - just checking my data I noticed I have cracked 100,000m of climbing yesterday. Quite pleased with that milestone

I've updated the Tour da Country thread with reports on the last couple of rides. Training is going well and feeling really good. Just two weeks to go now and really looking forward to it. Still a few other rides before it though, starting with Saturday's Tour de SCUM. Hopefully the weather holds out this time.

So not happy that I can't make it to do the Tour de SCUMsblack wrote:Well done Grant, you've certainly stepped up your climbing this year, that's an impressive milestone with a couple of months and some big rides still left in the year.

I like the yellow bar in my sig line and the celebratory arms-raised smiley that popped up with it. It makes it nice and obvious and does the gloating for me.

I managed to pass 6,000KMs today, always something to celebrate in the 6k thread. Should be able to get my aim for the year without problem. Next year I will have to go down a little as I have to be at work on time so take a shorter route. Hopefully I can make 7K this year though.

Yeah, it's a shame you can't be there Lewy, your invaluable local knowledge will certainly be missed and it's crazy that after putting in the work to prepare a course for us you don't get to do the ride. If you're free on the 28th of December we'll be starting the next Dirt Series with 75kms around Wingello and Penrose.Mugglechops wrote:So not happy that I can't make it to do the Tour de SCUM

Macca, well done on the 10k.
DavidS, congrats on the 6k.
DaveOZ, best of luck with your chase. If the 1% ever looks in danger come for a ride down here and we can help you get it sorted.

The guys who flew up said they saw about 4 or 5 fires and there was smoke everywhere.
Had a fire at home that came within about 1km of my house but it was only a fairly small.
Hope everyone is self and well if they near any fires.

S. Black sighting in pole position at the Nth Sydney start and eating corn at Homebush when hot chips were available.
The guy on the unicycle was amazing keeping up with the others and on the hills too.

Celeste boy, it was good to see you at Spring Cycle, certainly a top day for it. The may have been chips on band but my wife had commented on hoping they had the corn earlier in the day so when I saw them I had to grab a couple, I find them quite tasty as well. First time Shazz had been out on the bike in a while so it was nice to get that time riding with her.
Apart from being crazy busy my month has been going well. Need to find time to report on the Tour de SCUM plus the Tour da Country kicks off tomorrow with a family and community ride on the Lake Illawarra shoreline. On top of that my commutte home this afternoon got me past my climbing PB from January, still got a little bit to go to break July's distance PB, should get there this weekend along with the 6999km goal for the year. Still gotta keep working for the 100000m climbed though.
