Hey all,
I'm feeling like today is a better day than tomorrow (or the day after) to start my fitness/nutrition changes.
My biggest problem of all is getting my appetite up, I feel hungry in the morning but nothing looks appetising.
I'm 57kg and 172cm so I was looking at putting 4-5kg with the combination of banking up some kms riding (even on the trainer). I used to go to the gym quite a lot but never ate properly, I did put on about 2kg in the process but that was after a good year of training with a personal trainer.
Can I ask for some suggestions on meals throughout the day (even during work)? It would be good for any suggestions for solid meals through the day and snacks to have.
I've basically wiped my normal diet completely clean from here on. No doubt a trip to the supermarket will be necessary from here.

Wow nice work. Both those books look really awesome. The Portables cooking ideas seem like a really great idea. I get a bit sick of the same museli bars after a while.g-boaf wrote:Have a look at some of the stuff from here:

Would you say that with a pretty vigerous training program I should still be able to gain some weight?

Depends. Resistance/Strength training with a diet that appropriate fuels your training/recovery (as well as everything else you do) should see you gain weight yes. Not training at all and eating oversized portions of junk food 3 times a day will most likely see you gain weight also.......adrian_d wrote: Would you say that with a pretty vigerous training program I should still be able to gain some weight?

Better than the usual off-the-shelf bars and gels. (gels = yuck for me).adrian_d wrote:Wow nice work. Both those books look really awesome. The Portables cooking ideas seem like a really great idea. I've got them here - and at one point the first book tells the story how cyclists from other teams would start joining them, to eat really delicious food rather than just eating to fuel up. As for 57kg and 172cm, that seems okay. The more you ride, you'll get hungry, trust me. I can eat heaps and heaps sometimes. Just eat the right stuff and you'll be fine.
You can do it. Just eat right and ride well and you'll get there.Gordonhooker wrote:Yikes Adrian I am 166cm and will more then chuffed when I can down to 68KG's, but old and and one too many beers put the weight on for me. I wish you well in your push for a healthier weight.
