We would like an old road bike donated for the day to be sprayed as a ghost bike. If anyone can help please email me at at safecyclingaus@gmail.com or phone 0406 425 423

Is the gathering for the 28th or the 27th?

Your post says the 28th but the poster says the 27th?
It would not be at all strange if history came to the conclusion that the perfection of the bicycle was the greatest achievement of the nineteenth century.

As much as Ii have a preference for Monday, Sunday is simply more practical for all concerned.
there will be no big gee up speech and no free stuff handed out. Simply show up at Parliament House at any time of the day and place your inner tube on the fence. As mentioned there will be a minute's silence at 10.49am for anyone who turns up at that time, but rhat is the only formality. Image

A social riding group that I'm a member has 10 people planning to attend on Sunday. Hopefully there will be a good turnout.

I'm dropping off a tube for me, and one for a friend who can't be there, but I'll be doing it earlier as I can't be there at 10.49.

Can't make it on Sunday, but might be able to go past on Sat night.

If i hang a tube, should i leave it on the metal fence on the left of the driveway to Parliment House??

Adjacent to the orange car on the aerial photo?

Just dont want to leave it in some random location

Cheers
Rob

Sorry I missed your post Rob. Been a hectic last couple of days.
for those of you wanting to stop by the Ghost Bike in the morning, it will be positioned at the bottom of the steps opposite Parliament House on George Street in the CBD from 5am until 12pm. The bike will be attended from 10am.
Can I just remind everyone that tomorrow is a low key event. There will be no fancy banners or associated fanfare. The loss of 4 Qld cyclists since May is not something we can celebrate.
Don't forget to bring an an inner tube to hang off the bike bike tomorrow.

Two more inner tubes placed on the bike by my wife and I. The botanic gardens is a good place for the bike. Have had some time to sit on a bench and reflect on the lives that have been lost to cycling.
We all need to do something to make cycling safer for everyone.
