Newcastle Group Rides

Postby Whiper11 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 7:19 pm

Anybody know of a road cycling group in or near central Newcastle that is welcoming to newbies? I'm looking to go out for some training rides and I live in Adamstown. Stupidly I have signed up for 3 Peaks in March and need to start getting some km's under my belt.

regards

Most of the bike shops around town run a group ride. I can't imagine any of them are not open to newcomers. It is probably just a matter of calling around and finding out which one happens at a time and average speed that best suits you.

2 Wheel Industries do one, Omega does too (I think), Hadleys do as well. Ring them and discuss.

Other option is the Newcastle Cycleways Movement do weekly rides of different standards:

Thanks for that, I have identified a shop ride at Omega and will look at this on Sat morning, seems ideal. Any others around here building up to the 3 peaks event in March that want a training partner?
