Does taking the car in to pick up a 2nd hand electric mower count as honourable? It's aimed at reducing fuel use.

A Bullitt would do that job better, less lifting :D

Does having a gastro bug and going BLAH in both directions (once at the same time) and having the day off work count as honourable? If so then that was me yesterday.

Lost 5kg (have put 2kg back on now as fluids are staying put) and should be back to normal tomorrow hopefully.

Rode today at 1/2 speed as there was no petrol in the tank. It will be rolling home tonight.
Not fast, no style, but still get there.

Sounds fair to me, but you have some more catching up to do for 'the team' cumulative kms in the commuting challenge. ;)

I hear you and will still pass 500kms this month (without further illness or injury) - and hopefully the same next month.

Oh good, because due to Euro Holiday starting next week, I'll get no more than 120 commute kms done next month. Unless I hire a bike and 'commute' to some touristy places - does that count? :)

Was supposed to go camping down south last week, but a "hrmn lemme just check something" visit to the GP on the way led to an appendectomy with a couple of "added bonuses" I won't horrify you all with. They put me back together OK in the end but it all got a bit too close to my worst nightmare for comfort. Well, that's me rah-tooted for the rest of the year I'm guessing :|

Heal well Lizzy - hope you have a speedy recovery.

Jason - why not include Ox's holiday kms - he is commuting from attraction to attraction. You don't have to be a party poooper  :mrgreen:even if we are cheating

Appending a deck doesn't sound like it was all that it's cracked up to be, surely not worth missing out on camping!
Rest up and check out electric assist if you miss the urge but need to meter full load when returning in the heat of summer.

I'm so ashamed   - mum aways said if you don't have something nice to say then say nothing at all. Sorry Jason :(

BUT

Why would I let gretaboy have the final call (he will just correctly say no - and this is more fun) instead I will just have to ride to Tweed Heads to my mother in laws at Christmas time as that has to be classed as work for it doesn't seem like a holiday - hope Mrs Westab doesn't mind driving the three rug rats - The reutrn leg won't count as that will be just fun.

I think it all comes down to this...doesnt matter where you are...if you use a bicycle to get from point A to point B in place of a car...then I would classify it as commuting k's...thats just my take

Yep, surgeon said pretty much nothing but gentle walking for a month. He said although riding normally is probably OK after a couple of weeks it wouldn't be worth the risk of having to put my foot down hard & fast during an emergency stop, etc.

And weirdly, it looks like what they tore out might account for the lower back pain I've been kvetching about for months -- because touch wood, it's vanished (well, it still hurts because I can't unfold myself all the way yet, ... but it's a totally different beast).

In my defense, I'll say that I like horror to have a plot and rely on story telling and suspense to be scary, as opposed to torture-porn like the Saw series.
