27.5 Giant Trance 1 vs Trek Remedy 8
I don't know which one to buy! Has anyone got a recent 29" or 26" model? What do you reckon to them?
Cheers!

What kind of riding do you do? By the sound of it, more toward the technical end?
I'd go the Giant - much better bang for buck. The only downside is some proprietary sizes in the steerer tube and the odd seatpost size that may make it harder to upgrade. But the Giant comes with a dropper seatpost stock standard - hard to beat that.

30.9mm seatpost isn't that odd, and the steerer tube size is a bigger issue for stem selection than fork selection; if you wanted to change fork down the track all that's needed to make a regular 1 1/8" upper steerer fit is a standard upper bearing.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

I have the Trance 27.5 1. Amazing bike and value for money. Some great features, talas fork, isg05 mounts, convertible to 12mm through. Geometry is dialed out of the box and the bike handles so much better than the 29er and 26, having ridden all three.

Thanks! Well the Trance seems to be the favourite - I had a ride on one over the weeked, the geometry was absolutely spot on, and the spec seems very good for the price...
