Anyone using/used shiptoit.com?

Postby rifraf » Thu Nov 07, 2013 3:15 pm

I'm unclear if I have to complete the verification process.

I got the impression it was for increasing the initial spending limit of $750.00 because it states:
"Your account has spending monthly limit $750.
Used this month: $0, Remaining: $750
You can increase your monthly spending limit by completely verifying your account"

I have no interest in increasing the spending limit.

I opened an account, got an item sent there (value $114 US, they emailed me that they'd received it.
I payed for them to ship via TNT.

Theres a message at the top of my sign in page "Your account needs to be manually reviewed. Please check Account Verification section of your account, and try to fully verify your account."

Say What?

Check the status of your package. It should be green to indicate that payment has gone through and will be posted at next availible delivery.

Its green and says package is ready to sent but also says in another box:
Package status
Customs Value: $112.46 (ticked)
Shipping Method selected (ticked)
deposit is sufficient (ticked)
Account on Security Hold (X)

I sent them an email and it looks sorted.
They've forwarded my item and sent me the details.
No idea what the "security hold" was about as they didnt say in the responding email.
They did suggest doing the verification process but not why.
I'm not interested in running around getting id's stamped by JP's etc.
It'll be interesting to see how this experiment pans out.

Funny, I don't remember sending in documents at all. All they asked of me was to put my details in (credit card), they verified my name and address and took out $10 for credit and then I got started once the payment cleared.

OK, my item arrived safely.
The process wasnt painful once the unfamiliarity was over.
I'll be happy to utilise Shiptoit again if I get stuck with any USA stores acting recalcitrant with regards shipping items to Australia.

Happy Spinning

Hopefully anyone following in my tire prints can put aside the anxiety of utilising an unfamiliar service.
Theres different methods/approaches of using shiptoit and I just tried the single item use, choosing TNT as the courier.
My item (jacket) wasnt available here in Aus. but was in the USA.
It cost approx $122Au for the jacket which qualified for free USA shipping.
I got it shipped shiptoit in Oregon due to me being informed of no add on sales tax.
Shiptoit combined with TNT's costs came to approx $60Au.
They offered cheaper options via USPS but I wanted a speedier option that TNT offered. :)
