Wynnum Waterfront

Living at Redbank Plains don't get to do it that often, great ride and plenty of cafes open early.
Nice way to start the day early and watch the sunrise as you do circuits.

Too late. Across the Gateway and down to Lota via Wynnum North has been a regular ride since the new bridge was completed.Crawf wrote:Yes it is, shhh don't tell the Nth siders, we don't want them coming over the river into the badlands.
I dunno why you would want to circuits though - leave that for the triathletes.
If you have to drive there, ride down to Wellington Point, or Cleveland, or even Victoria Point.

And if you need any parts or a tune up, call into Park Bikes Capalaba and see Kevin Menz. He is a top bloke that I used to race against and with.

But consider this, most Northsiders who go South see either the Gateway bridge Hemmant etc (industrial) and then Bogan City. Or from the Storey bridge, Burunda, Moorooka and then Archerfield, Richlands. Oxley etc all industrial. If you go down Beudesert Rd it's crap because what is a main road takes forever to get anywhere and signposts for Inala are there which puts people offside due to its rep (although it's not as bad as some places in the world I have been to or lived in).Gordonhooker wrote:Bugger now the Yankees know what we have down here in the South....
But Wynnum and Redlands that you talk about is a sideshow it's not anywhere on the beaten track. I agree it's a great place to cycle but most Northsiders think of the Southside as the above as I have mentioned. I have been from Kallangur on the Northside over the gateway bridge cyclepath (and it's ridiculous speed limit), good day out but underutilised.
Having said that I am envious of the Centenary Highway cycleway, need something like this on the northside.

Hehe - we Yankees don't want any badass Mexicans crossing to the genteel north side of the river.Gordonhooker wrote:Bugger now the Yankees know what we have down here in the South....
Maybe we can get Campbell Newman to set up a border crossing on the Gateway Bridge.
