I just went through there about 6:30pm, and an STA bus has dropped what looks like its entire store of transmission fluid from the Epping lights all the way up to the roundabout.
Its very slippery at the moment (I had trouble pedalling up the hill after I crossed a small patch of it).. and if they don't clean it up properly, it'll be a real hazard for those going through there in the morning (cutting across to the path and navigating down that steep slope to the lights for the official crossing of Epping Rd).

Good on you for giving the heads up.
I came a cropper down the approach to Spit Bridge awhile back because of a bus spilling its guts. Was so slippery it was like standing on an ice rink and the damage to my shoulder labrum ended my ability to ride a surfboard.
The (insert swear word of choice) drivers who came along afterwards beeped at me to get off the road when I was obviously dazed and hurt from the stack. Except for a really nice lady and her late teens daughter who came to my rescue. Spent the night in hospital for observation because the inside of my helmet was trashed. Caused a nice traffic snarl too.
The scary thing was this bus had done the same thing in the Transit Lane/Bus Lane/Clearway on both sides of the approach to Spit Bridge and all the way up Sydney Road from Manly Ferry Terminus.
I never did find out who you were, but thanks for returning my bike to my wife. The world is a better place because of people like you.

so here's hoping it got cleaned up properly -- I'll be looking for signs of plenty of sand in the morning.

All cleaned up this morning.. sawdust or something similar.
I'd be careful when it next rains, though - the tarmac looks pretty soaked in the stuff, so it'll come up again when wet.
