That's almost certainly what attracts me to them.Kermit TF wrote:I love all bikes that are different or unique, but these thingys just look wrongbarefoot wrote:http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/old-triathlo ... 19e5ad249d
I'd probably ride it about 3 times then hang it in the shed to gather dust.
I'm also fascinated by MTB linkage forks. Just because... linkage forks!

Linkage forks yes, lefty forks NNNOOOO! They hurt my brain, I can't stand looking at them.barefoot wrote:I'm also fascinated by MTB linkage forks. Just because... linkage forks!
I know they're strong, I understand the engineering but I hate the asymmetry & some part me of me just refuses to believe that they can exist & function without skewing the wheel off the bike at the first sight of a bump.

Yeah, i don't think anybody should bid on it with those horrible shimano brake levers. Imagine the mental anguish if you actually bought it had to keep searching for the correct brake levers, it would become all encompassing, your work and family life would suffer, your hair would fall out.familyguy wrote:Yeap, the Marinoni is gonna go up sharpish. Crap Shimano brake levers though!

Not worth the risk if you ask me. I recommend that nobody bids on it. Honestly, i'm doing you a favour

And can anyone confirm if the FD and RD on this are Superbe Pro? Description says its Shimano, but it looks Superbe Pro to me.

I haven't been follwing prices too much lately on ebay but that would be a reasonable offer to me. (I am not bidding but that would be my top offer)grantw wrote:Well he's had an offer of $600 for it so far...
You just wouldn't want to think the campag was worth way too much. The premium is coming for new complete gruppos.
But it is a nice thing to have so just depends on how much you have to spare at xmas I spose. I hope for the seller he gets plenty.

Nope, I can't help. Pics are OK'ish, but not OK enough to get a decent look. That is an OK price for what it looks like. My question would be... where is it in the Centurion hierarchy? Forks look to be badged Tange. Is the frame plain gauge tubing? Either way, Tange I guess. Looks like a Tange label bottom of ST, where bike shop stickers normally go. But I could be wrong-stabbing on that.QuangVuong wrote:...And can anyone confirm if the FD and RD on this are Superbe Pro? Description says its Shimano, but it looks Superbe Pro to me.

Being in Fairlight, it's had it's share of maritime air, and it shows; though any buyer would want to be sure it's surface-only. I can't touch it right now, though tempted to offer him $50.
Someone here with knowledge of Centurion history may still help. At this time of year a lot of people are distracted; be interesting to see how long it hangs on GT.

Definitely looks Suntour-ish with the RD limit adjusters in that position but given the cage length and general 'look' I think the gears would be from quite a bit lower down the Suntour food chain. Some sort of Cyclone or Alpha maybe?QuangVuong wrote:And can anyone confirm if the FD and RD on this are Superbe Pro? Description says its Shimano, but it looks Superbe Pro to me.
