Cool vintage aero looking carbon frame. Looks like a Kestrel or Aegis, but I cant work out what it is. However, I know that its an older 90s? frame.

EDIT: Did someone here in Newcastle area pick up the free orange aluminium frame with a 6400 group on it? I was gonna get it sent down :(

This seems like a very nice old racer in Sydney and looks like it could be much older than 70s http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/vintage-bike ... _60wt_1403" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

With that headset and those rear dropouts, definitely. Very interesting.

Yes, with the rear forks and headset shape, I thought it would be pre-WWII and looks to be nicely built, fully brazed rear half and fork tips. Not sure of the wheel size, but could be 28" I guess. Nice looking pedals too. Stick on a brooks saddle and set of period shaped bars and she'd be a beauty. If only it was nearby...

Hubs look more like a generic modern "fixie" wheelset, as seen on your local ebay for about $100. Most likely 700c, regardless the size that was originally fitted.

That's a benefit of old frames without rim brakes - you can fit whatever wheels you have. My 1950s Repco rolls on 700c (with a coaster brake) until I get around to finding a usable set of 642 rims.

So, at the current price, you're buying a set of Stars Circle (or similar) wheels, with a free vintage frame thrown in. Seems fair, if you're in the market for cheap singlespeed wheels :-D

As laser blasts zing around the doomed rebel transport ... a vintage cycling enthusiasts records a final message ...

"Help me Obi-wan, I'm about to be purchased by a hipster who's going to powdercoat me and slam in some white deep V velocity rims with a cut-down broom for handlebars. You're my only hope ..."

The message ends abruptly.

For the love of Yoda will someone in the vintage scene in Sydney buy this! I am in Victoria and they won't post :(

Good on you, good pickup. I guess if you snooze you lose but I would never have bid this far out, I was watching and if the price was still right, bid towards the end of the auction. Again not your fault and great pickup but the Seller needs to stick a buy now price up or let it run it's course, withdrawing it early because someone made him an offer is against the auction principal. Also using the excuse as "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing" gets him out of paying anything in fees.

Sorry sunho, nothing against you mate but this is the second bike in two days that this has happened on so I am a bit ticked off.

fair call mate, happened to me a few times. I had the opportunity to get it, so i did, i would think the same thing kinda happens when things get taken off as well.

To be honest, I messaged him after it got relisted when his first auction went for 0 bids
he got back to me and i gave him the offer of his relisted price, he said to come have a look.

My 2 bob's worth is that if i'm selling a bike or part and someone throws in an offer, i'll only entertain it if there are no bids, once someone has put a bid in, the auction has to run it's course.

In serious angst over this in my size. I've emailed him for some more detail, particularly the fork specs, and Reynolds specs.
Same Glebe seller as that one you listed just above, Quang, by the looks.
Well, no, it's not a pushbike, otherwise I'd be pushing it...
