i would consider going to the strava dark side if its a matter of just uploading your garmin to it...
Manually is the only option I am aware of with BJ. Strava and Garmin Connect both allow you to simply upload data direct from your Garmin.

In Strava, you can keep all of your rides private, so only you can see them. Or you can keep your place of residence and work private so there is a 500m - 1km radius around it where others cannot see your travels. Distance varies and can only be adjusted by contacting Strava support. They are helpful with this as I had to do it.

I use BJ as I have done for almost two years now. I use GC as it is great for setting myself goals and I can easily share rides with others on FaceBook, etc if I want to (for charity rides and the like). Strava, I use for keeping records of Personal Best times, etc. Strava now keeps record of bike components a lot better. In the past BJ was the best at this but Strava have now done it better. So I can easily see how many kms I have on my chain, tyres, cassette, etc. It's a good maintenance tool making BJ slowly become obsolete. Which is really unfortunate as I really like BJ.

I could pay for Strava and be able to set goals but GC does it for free.

I hope that info helps?
Sure does thanks. I already use GC to upload my data too, incase my garmin dies. Is there a script (or a way) to update the stats in your sig straight from GC?

Have you set your rides to be public?

Just a quick thanks to LTR and Andrew for supplying the information on updating the graph showing our k's.
Works a charm.

I've used BJ for over 5 years now, pay every year. For my basic needs it offers everything I need. Always try and be a premium member as I think it's the right thing to do. :)

I am not sure what happened, but when I looked today, I was still displaying last years distance indicator - so I deleted it from my signature.

Can anyone tell me how to get the 2013 distance indicator???

Finally got the Orbea back today after a little stack a few weeks ago which toasted the LH shifter (took me FOREVER to get the right parts). Been an interesting time on the MTB, managed a 100 km Audax ride (thankfully it was a UAF ride with a 22.5 km average) and I've been doing high intensity rides on my commute instead (yes, I've been trying to race the roadies  - sometimes successfully  ). I know I have some field work coming up which will keep me off the bike so I'm trying hard to get a few extra kms under the belt, damn shame how life gets in the way of cycling though.

One reason might be that, like me, people who are not computer geeks have become frustrated with the need to jump backwards through three burning counter rotating hoops while saying "farkit" thirty times in three seconds, in order to go from 31/12 to 1/1.

Does it have to be so f&^%(&%&$ing complicated??

I've had a bad month thanks to a knee injury. Entirely my own fault, I "attacked" a long set of undulations on an Audax ride ("leg muscles of a 20 year old - joints of a 60 year old" - dammit :( ). The knee is slowly recovering but it's still softly softly at the moment.

If you're on Bike Journal and haven't been logging your rides then I suggest you look at the club stats - we need your kms! ACF has been top of the table for as many years as I can remember, would be nice to keep it that way 8)

Just had a quick look at my records; I have about 6000 to add, however, it appears that you have not read, or chosen to ignore, my post above yours.
I got sick of seeing last years "green bar" showing on my posts, and found that my first post this year did not transfer over to BNA.
Eventually I discovered a way to delete the green thing .....gone....finito.

Its just too farking hard

I haven't bothered with the green bar this year, don't see the point really.

Hi, I've just set up an account under the username michael_w. I'm looking at doing 4500km this year, after getting back on the bike after my accident. Up to 1200km so far. With a bit of luck (and perseverance) I may even surpass my goal

I know it is November :!:

Better late than never; I am trying to get my 2013 green line going. I have a public 2013 goal listed at BJ.

I have submitted Phils thing with my BJ name in it.

Why does the green line show 2012 stats>

Please help

Thanks
Jeff

I have been able to access bike journal for a day or so. Is anybody else having the same problem?
