Those shifters are either SunRace or Microshift, in either case reasonable quality. My problem with it is the bend on those bars, yuck!

Look at the shifters.
At least they are down tube rather than some of the stem shifters in this price range ala Reid, Target etc..

If you are going to have a (in the sellers words) "tribute bike", you would think you would spell the blokes name correctly when you plaster it on the downtube.... That thing is 'orrible.

I believe you are thinking of the Il Campionissimo Fausto Coppi
This bike is in honour of this Coppi

In which case its a fitting (although still misspelled) tribute then

Kinda cool, but def. not 5 thousand smackers cool.

First time I've seen some of that Porshe livery. Didn't realise the head stickers were such a rip off of the Porsche / Stuttgart crest. Would love a repro for one of my Ricardo frames :D

That "Porsche" bike is not worth more than $250.00. Gas pipe quality. Hardly unique, I 've seen others. Stickers don't make a dog of a bike any better. Good luck to the seller, I don't think there's anyone that dumb.

To be honest I think $25 would be optimistic, would be doing the world a favour using the porsche as a boat anchor rather than keeping it as a BSO.

Looks the same as the one my brother in law has. One day they wanted me to pick up a piece of furniture and I could have the old Malvern Star. I thought being generous that I could live with that deal. When I eventually dragged the furniture out at their place they pointed to another bike..a clapped out rusty cheap Malvern Star mtb!! I took it straight to the dump feeling annoyed and a little foolish. Doh!

With the placement of the 'gear stick' be sure that no further children are planned.

And what could be missing from that name?

Well spotted, Semar. I totally didn't even notice till you mentioned it.
I don't care if it's a $20 Huffy or a $20k Colnago, as long as you're riding, and you're happy.

Exzunctly. From what little info is out there, I believe Porsche still got cranky with them and put a stop to it.

Got an early Christmas bonus from work, saw this http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/winthrop ... 1034278929" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Not sure if I overpaid for it, not sure what model alan frame it is, any1 let me know if i paid too much and or what the frame name might be? Its got 57x57 74
leading me to believe its made in 1974 and its a 57x57 square frame size?
I have been collecting lots of superbe pro parts from member to member sales on here, so I will be putting my best stuff on the frame and using it to commute to work everyday-i love italian things, I collect Alfa Romeos and I don't see myself ever parting ways with this frame ,however i'm not sure what to do with the fork the one on the bike is a decent colombus but its colour certaintly doesnt match the rest of the bike.
Any feedback would be great,

Cheers
