I'm not entirely sure they've got anywhere near their 1000 limit, but it'd be nice if there was a healthy turn out regardless.
Hoping to recommission my 1960s Carlton for the ride. Madly scratching together old bits and bobs. It won't be period correct, but it'll at least be mechanically correct. I'll be mostly using later, 1970s Japanese knock offs of the European 1960s bits I'd ideally use.
Entries close midnight tonight apparently - so hurry up people still dawdling!

That's not too bad, I guess.... Must admit I found it a little odd you can publicly list & browse all the participants names. Maybe I'm just not used to these sort of events though.kx315 wrote:My family is looking forward to this I think I read there are 300 registrations so far.

Two clicks from the main page gives you a list of all entrants, irrespective of teams. A quick copy & paste reveals 335 people entered upto now. Not abysmal, but not exactly over flowing either. I just kind of thought with all of the good things being said about last years it might've taken off a bit more. Not sure what the turnout was in '13.kx315 wrote:Really? Just going by recurring surnames - looks to be a high portion family groups.
Must admit I'm not one for huge crowds anyway, but do have a bit of sympathy for the organisers.

I can't commit due to the aforementioned possibility of babby arriving, but there's still a chance I could make it at the last minute.
300+ people trying to line up in alphabetical order? Eeep!get a map, pen and seat tag at the Rego tent.
“Solo” line up alphabetical by Surname. eg: “Roberto Ricci” is “R”
“Il gruppo” Team Leaders line up alphabetical by team name. eg: “Bellisimo Tres” is “B”

That'd be a be a question for the organisers, really. I had some correspondence with Toby last week re: my Cycling Australia membership insurance exemption and he replied generally within 24 hours.cray- wrote:Any chance you can sign up on the day?

Assumed OP was one of the organisers and possibly monitoring this thread. Also, I'm lazy. ;DHappyHumber wrote:That'd be a be a question for the organisers, really. This is one of the few cycling events that I can realistically participate in. Watch out guys, the unicyclists will be hunting in packs!

OP? That would be me but I'm not one of the organisers, just enjoyed it last year and decided to give it a plug for this year.cray- wrote:Assumed OP was one of the organisers and possibly monitoring this thread. I would go with the kids, not sure if they are up to cycle back to the car after the event.
Did I miss something?

Figured that be the most direct and flattest route.
