200 km ride around Sydney
Postby rheicel » Mon Dec 02, 2013 4:38 pm
I know it is impossible to get one with dedicated bike path but a mix of Bike path and minimal shared road path will do.
Just want to challenge myself if I can do 200 km in one ride. I'll be starting in or around SOP if that will help.

Yes good suggestion and pretty flat. Note it's the Cook's River cyclepath. I've done a ride from home (inner east) to Preston's return via Cooks River cyclepath, M7 but it's only 160km.TimW wrote:Sydney Olympic park to the M7 Cycleway, complete one lap of the M7 then follow cycleway down to parramatta, through Homebush and out the Georges river cycleway to either Brighton Le sands, or continue to Kurnell/Cape Solander, and return.

95% cycleway could be m7 cycleway (40km each way), cycleway along Windsor rd from bella vista to windsor (20km each way), cycleway along Windsor rd from bella vista to homebush through Parramatta (25km each way). Do a few laps of parra park and/or Sydney Olympic park to make the extra distance and get 200.
hmm I might have to do this myself I think, for extra points stop at every mcdonalds and hungry jacks you see for a frozen coke

Agreed. I was doing the calculations in the shower - 360km is only 15km/h (standard Audax speeds) which I can do in my sleep. As such, yes, I will go for the full Oppy. We need to build a team now. Long rides for training.rheicel wrote:Lol, so this 200 km plan is a good warmup. If we are going to do it, we might was well do the full Oppy.

The program that combines the GPX seems to mess up the time stamp. So I did not bother combining them.
