Santos TDU Looking to share hotel room in Adelaide.

Hi.

I am attending part of the TDU this year and figure a hotel is a better idea than a hostel when it comes to getting sleep before daily rides along the routes. I would like to share a hotel bill with another rider who is also looking for a fairly quiet place (reasonable quality and secure for bikes) to rest up.

You are leaving it late. When I booked my hotel 3 months ago I got the last room and friends that tried to book other accommodation elsewhere in Adelaide after me were told sorry no vacancy.

Hi. Yes it's late. Unfortunately I chose to go late in the game due to work commitments.
There are still hotels available. Please pass the word on if you know of anyone interested in sharing accommodation.

Hi. I should mention that I can organize the hotel accommodation. Estimated cost per person is between $75-90 per night.
I have one hotel waiting to hear back for $135/night ($67.50 per person if shared) 2 double beds, close to centre of Adelaide (few blocks)

Hi. I have booked 4 days (22-26th) at a decent hotel 3km from the centre of Adelaide (Arkaba Hotel).

If anyone is looking for a place to stay/share for the TDU over those days, let me know. You get a queen bed, and standard stuff: fridge, coffee/kettle, ensuite, cable TV etc. Room is on opposite side of hotel from the bar/function rooms (ie quiet), and they are happy for us to store bikes in the room.

$67 per night per person.

First in gets the room.

Brilliant! (small exception was the nine network commentary during the crit on Sunday) but it was a thrill to see those amazing riders smashing corkscrew hill - and it was fun riding up that segment also Got the obligatory photo with Jens and great to talk with team riders and watch their mechanics at work at the expo. Counting the days till the next one! Can still hear cow bells and that horn on the race directors car..

I did. Great atmosphere, I agree with everything you said, great atmosphere etc. did the bupa challenge, weather was great made it easier

Wow! Now that's inspiration. Never been to Adelaide before. It's a really nice place and there are so many amazing rides. It was a brilliant idea to host an event of this calibre. Would cost a fortune but I suspect the tourism gets a huge shot in the arm with throngs of people flooding the cafes and restaurants. Hotel manager was only too happy for me to store my bike in my room.
Can't wait for the next one!

I think ur getting a bit carried away now! Everything shuts at 5 in Adelaide, and they have just gotten rid of afternoon siestas!

Everything shutting at 5 means I don't have to work OT, suits me!
