Special shout out to the guys wearing Sanity jerseys - not sure if thats a club or a shop ride ?,demonstrating awesome skills, riding two/three abreast, surging and stalling, and swamping any poor slower rider in their way. Nice going.

You're going to be like a baked spud in your velomobile, AndrewAushiker wrote:Ticked off the Strava Challenge - Gran Fondo 1 yesterday. Temps averaged 34 C and peeked at 46 C ... it hurt in the later stages.

It didn't matter how early you started - at Midnight it was 34C and 40.6 at 9:30. It has not dipped below 30 at any time. The only thing smart about riding today was that it was not yesterday.
I cheated and took the train home. I figured 30 something kms was enough.
If you haven't discovered it's therapeutic benefits yet, I urge hot and heat stressed riders to join the kids in the fountain in Forest Chase. A soaked body-tight lycra singlet or riding shirt keeps you cool for a good forty minutes.

Smart move turning back. Today is one of those days where I did not question the need for the pool and all the work that goes with it.sambo3 wrote:Yeah I started at 4am at it was 30 already was going to ride to Yanchep and back (100km) decided to turnaround at Burns beach about halfway,

You do realise with all the new found aerodynamics and efficiency of the velomobile you're going to have to ride a helluva lot more to maintain or gain any health improvements?Aushiker wrote:In the velomobile I would have been home before the sun got upHappyHumber wrote:You're going to be like a baked spud in your velomobile, Andrew

You local owners will have to enter as a group the Channel 7 Christmas Pageant next year. From my occasional following of your Velophilliac thread, you seem to enjoy being pointed and gawked at.... the parade will be a wet dream for you.
