Brizzy_Nub wrote:I do have a little tingling in my feet after about 40KM still. I think this might be cleat position and I might move them back a little. I thought this was blood being cut off by the seat but today my crotch/butt region was fine on the new saddle, but feet still tingling/pins and needles.

That could be a good point. I do latch them up quite firmly, maybe when I go out tomorrow I'll leave the cleats alone but slack off the velcro and ratchety thing.

RonK wrote:Oh yes, forgot to mention cleat position. By default start with them all the way back. You can't do any harm setting them this way, but you sure can if they are too far forward.
But you are right - don't make too many adjustments at the same time. Just loosen off your shoes for a start.

By all the way back, you mean to the heel?
Intersting, the guys at Ivanhoe Cycles told me the opposite, start near the toes and move back. :/

Read the advice of an expert, Steve Hogg, advocating a position even further back than is possible with standard shoes - the mid-foot cleat position.

Brizzy_Nub wrote: I did still get tingling feet from about 30kms. I was thinking during the ride that it could be related to my new seat not quite being broken in, it does hurt between sit bone and seat a bit though it's not really bad and it will go as the seat breaks into to my body. I can see the seat starting to bend already after two rides.

Hi Brizzy_Nub, my experiences with the Brooks Swallow is very similar. Had one on a bike when I was a courier in Philly 20 years ago, and ended up changing it to a Selle Italia Turbomatic. The Swallow did look quit nice though and it pained me to take it off, although not having numbness felt better. Maybe should have given it a bit more break-in time or wore thicker chamois shorts.
