Can I ride my hydraulic brakes in warm weather?
When will MY15 brakes be available?
Can I keep my key interim mechanical brakes?
Who do I contact for obtaining new brakes?
What are the next steps?

They're only 'cheapies' but work very well ALL the time, and are dead-reliable.
Never could see a valid reason for hydraulic discs on a bicycle, apart from technical oneupmanship.

I agree. But most of the industry is drive by that and the profession level bikes. It would like having the motoring retail market being lead by F1 technology. Reliability and durability is askewed for the sake of unneeded 'performance'. You just need to look at what sort of equipment and bikes that the Dutch use to see on their bikes. The Fixer wrote:Never could see a valid reason for hydraulic discs on a bicycle, apart from technical oneupmanship.
That said, properly configured hydraulic discs are a dream to use.

In short - only real info is confirmation of production of the 2015 models in late April (hydraulic disc and rim) and affected customers will be the first to receive the replacement. So you don't need to watch the video

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully only a week for me then. Cheers.Carrots wrote:Apparently the replacements are making their way into the country. Bought a new Giant TCX this week and will be about a week til their next shipment of parts to upgrade it from cable to hydraulics. I

Should have said also - they've done a couple of swap overs already in past couple of weeks.am50em wrote:Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully only a week for me then. Went for two hour ride though Galston Gorge/Berowra Water this morning and the brakes performed perfectly and were quiet. The original hydraulic brakes always had the odd rattle in the front brake and the interim cable brakes always had slight sound (maybe needed to be re-centered) while riding but the replacement hydraulic brakes are silent except during braking when they make minimal noise. The interim shifter for the front derailleur was never perfect (something to do with road shifter vs mountain derailleur on the Revolt) but with the new setup the front derailleur is smooth and reliable as it was with the original hydraulic setup.
So very happy with replacement brake/shifters (apart from the fact they did not make me go any faster )

Keep the receipt for when SRAM recalls the watch.am50em wrote:Came home today to find parcel at my front door - strange I had not ordered anything (well not that I could remember). It is a gift from SRAM. A watch as a followup thank you for sticking with SRAM hydraulic. Not a great watch by any means but a nice gesture.
