I know, I know, I took a photo of the non drive side again, bear with me I'm still getting used to this. At least I got the valves somewhere close to 6 o'clock...

Here is my new ride a (cough's loudly)a Chinarello 1 size to big hence the low seat
Its fitted with full ultegra 6800 (still awaiting the pedals) took it out on a 60k maiden at the weekend and very happy apart from I need to swap my short cage rear derailleur for a medium one, as when I am on the the big ring on the front crank when shifting up..or is it down ? to the 2 biggest rings on the rear cassette it rubs on the front derailleur the guy who built it for me reckons I need a medium cage ?

crank is 50/34 and rear cassette is 11/28

Looks like you don't need a new rear RD. Some bike chain line does have problems with cross chain combination, specially on compact cranks.
Or this is possibly just derraileur adjustment issues.
And did you ask yourself why do you want to have a big-big shifting combo?
Oh, if not adjustment problem, Di2 will fix the front trimming for you :D

^ I cant be in my compact 50-25 combo without some rubbing FD noise. Generally i just try not to cross-chain.

Big big cross chaining really is a bad habit. If you find your doing it a lot it's time to consider a smaller large chainring or a larger range rear.

Thanks guys
i am quite new to all this, But I do remember my dad telling me years ago that its bad to cross chain, but i thought it was just a urban myth :)
So maybe ill tweak the front derailleur and go from there, that way it will save me a few $'s and try not to cross chain.
Thanks PommieYeti

Shift to the small chainring after shifting up to one smaller on the cassette. You'll probably find it's roughly where you want to be and then at least you have somewhere to go if you want shorter gears again rather than being stuck in big/big with only little/big (your lowest gear) one shift away.

I finally took a picture of the bike on the drive side, with the rim stickers upright, and other rules followed.

It's still a Reid but at least the photo conforms now :).

Velominati says valves at 6, I say valves at 12, like you. Tyre labels misaligned. You're getting closer though.

Rule 46 violation clearly on the bars. Yellow tyres when no other yellow is present is definitely Rule 8 fail. (just noticed you had yellow bottles in the upper photo, you get marks for good taste, but none from the Keepers of the Cog  )

I wouldn't stress on the Rules too much, they ignore practicality for anyone who might want to ride further than 40kms to the coffee shop

And as I said earlier, it's still a Reid, what's that they say about polishing things?

I've had the bars dropped (rotated downwards) in the stem today as well, after test riding another bike where the hoods were more horizontal than vertical and my hands felt more comfortable in the drops I wonder if this will make a difference.

My commute home will tell me.

I'll assume you ride with compact bars and have no experience using/ installing any other kinds of drop bars?

Bar angle is dictated by the angle of the drops because that is where you actually hold the bar. The tops remain constant whatever the rotation and the hoods can be moved wherever and are therefore independent on bar rotation. As such the Angle of the top part of the bar should play a very little role in proper handlebars rotation. E.g. Same bars as above on random bike found on internet http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.com/images/bik ... 670-80.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

HS, I didn't write the Rules... and certainly not Rule 1, 2 and 3, which eliminate any excuse for transgression

A downgrade (ride characteristics imho) from my previous steed, but happy non the less as this will function more than what my previous steed will.
