Cycling from Byron shire to Tasmania. Looking for Companions

Postby simo_5 » Sun Feb 23, 2014 6:19 pm

Hi My name is simon.

Im have been riding for a solid few years now on my Kona Sutra, i have been mainly riding locally.
i have always wanted to do a big ride, so i am going forth to do one this june. i am aiming for Melbourne or Tasmania.
i am looking for a companion as i do not really want to ride that far on my own, this person has to be fit and healthy and have a good experience and knowledge of cycling.
this ride would be taken in time and with no rush to get to the destination.

Also has anyone here done this sort of ride before? any previouse knowledge/advice would be much apreciated.

Thanks. :)

If I wasn't so busy with full time study I'd happily do it! I think that would be really fun...

Don't be a wimp - solo touring is the way to go.

I have a map - if you want it PM your email address.

OK, I've emailed a PDF of the Melbourne to Gold Coast East Coast Explorer route from the 2001 edition of Lonely Planet Cycling Australia.

No doubt some of information it contains is out of date, but most is still relevant

Anyone else who wants a copy can PM an email address.
