We'd probably congregate at the German Concordia Club (next to Tempe Stn) for lunch.
Details of the ride will come later.
We encourage all participants to be covered by Cycling Australia insurance i.e. paid up financial members of Cycling Australia ($88 per year).
The route is very sedate - 99% of ride on paved cycle path or sidewalk (all legal). Pace will be relaxed. Return trip is about 45km.

I'm afraid you'll have to supply your own stand and interpretive material Quang. We'll be supplying the section markers, etc. Karzie may be bringing some stands along but I wouldn't rely on this.QuangVuong wrote:What's happening with bike stands and placards, etc?
When I've completed the email to last years competitors (soon) I'll send you a copy.

I have Buckley's chance of winning the concurs as all my bikes get ridden so I try and bring bikes that might interest people.
Last year the Flying Gate and the Hartley came down, have to bring something different this year.
At least one will have to be a bike I can ride for a reasonable distance and up hills on the Sunday ride which rules out all the fixed gear stuff

Look forward to seeing you there Richard with whatever you bring along. I was about to respond to your "hills" comment when I realised you were just taking the mickey Carry on.WyvernRH wrote:Definitely attending again this year - great fun last time! Only problem is which bikes to bring down...

I will bring Dad's 1948 Spearman, no wall queen there. But I will appreciate any feedback on any improvements I could make.
Swapped over the chainring (now 49T) ready for the hills on the Sunday ride, a new freewheel and a new chain. After playing with an assortment of derailleurs, spacers, chainrings and chains, I think I have a combination that allows for all the three gears it is supposed to have.
I took it for a 50km ride last Mon. All went well.

Have seen a couple of different times. Unfortunately not bringing any bikes or parts up from Canberra, but looking forward to some window shopping, unlike the real shopping my wife will be doing over at Ikea.....

Yes, we're encouraging concours entrants to bring their bikes in earlier than the official start. There'll be people setting up at the velodrome earlier than that.

We are suggesting concours participants get there a little earlier to set up their bikes, hence the earlier hour. The gates open officially at 11am
By the way, I received a query on the Sydney Classic Bicycle Show Facebook page from a Melb enthusiast today. He asks if we plan to organise a similar event in Melb?
Unfortunately the distance is far too great for a little neighbourhood bicycle club like the Dulwich Hill BC.
The name's been registered but a sister event in another location is more than welcome.
Any takers in Melb?
