Ha! I did Hillbrook for the first time on Saturday. Sort of anticipated it finishing just around the first bend, so gunned the start. Whoops. Got a 4th for the 'To the first corner' segment and then realised my mistake. So. Much. Pain.

Sort of keen to try again with the aim of not blowing up right at the start...

Did Gap Creek Rd for the first time in ages today (albeit starting at the Payne Rd end. Was very nice and quiet out there. Unfortunately after that I made the mistake of following Dimma's suggestion and doing Haven Rd. Argh Damo it's evil!

I've had a couple more "helpful" climbing suggestions now - Monaro Rd at Mugeeraba and Robert Henri Dr at Tamborine.

I wish people would stop suggesting these things!

In all seriousness, it's kind of addictive doing these rides. Might as well find somewhere to ride where my puny legs are offset by my 62kg... :P

If you want to go straight to the top of the class don't bother with Henri Roberts Dr, give Mystery Rd a go instead.

It was cool enough this morning.
We hardly raised a sweat on the Gap Ck Loop.

Took a detour/shortcut cross-country which was enormous fun on the roadbike.
Managed to find good barista afterwards too.

15 degrees and beautiful this morning :)

Hahaha. Summer time I ride more in the mornings and into the night while in winter I prefer to do night rides over morning rides. Flats and speed work during summer while into the hills for winter :P

A few of the guys didn't appreciate 340w for 20mins through 7 Sisters and are complaining their legs hurt, so Mt Mee is off unfortunately.
New ride is West Mt Cotton http://www.pelofy.com/ride/144" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What an awesome way to start 2014.
Did the circuit in just under an hour at 27 km/hr average.
That is faster than usual because there was not much traffic so I could just blast along waterworks rd, moggill roads etcetera. Along the way Had a chat to another bloke doing a similar loop.
What a difference a week makes, similar circuit, similar weather, similar fairly brutal hills, but about 20 times as much traffic, even at 6.30am.
That was in January. School holidays.
Fast forward to a wednesday morning in May.
Even more traffic, tons of it. Lots of tradies on their way to jobs on the other side of town.
Also quite a few urban assault vehicles transporting little persons to private schools far away from home.
Also "roadworks" affecting the Western suburbs bikepath.
Therefore i think i will have to wait for another public holiday before i try Gap Ck loop again. :(

Did it again yesterday just to see if it really was as nasty as I remembered. It was.

No no, not trying to pin it on you this time - as a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly. Frankly the way I felt at times, that saying nearly had me coming and going.
