Clearly a lot of great advice on here, from people who have experience.
I'm curious about a tent that would be suitable for touring this autumn. I'm a solo tourer from Canada, I'm trying to find used gear to keep costs down, but if there is an inexpensive new tent that would suit I'd love to know where to get it.

I have one from Kmart, weighs 1.6kg and cost 25 bucks. Still going strong despite what the haters say.

I use an 'Outerlimits' Razor Back tent. It costs about $120 and is the best that I have found.

Still one of my favourites is the Tarn 2 from MEC in Canada.
Their site even has a 2nd hand section am sure you can find one.
What about trying Kijiji? Lots of good 2nd hand there too.
