The Start is within 2km of both Karrakatta and Shenton Park Stations. The finish is within 2km ofLeederville, Perth and City West Stations.dmwill wrote:Plan on getting catching train to Esplanade - ride along river/Mounts Bay Rd then up Winthrop Ave.
Figured that be the most direct and flattest route.
The Historical Cycle Club is fielding two teams and a judge for best vintage bike this year. I'm part of the Hysterical Cycle Club team along with HH and a couple of others. See you there
(entries seem to be open still btw)

For a change I will have other unicyclists (2) to keep me company. However we will be upstaged by Michael Jackson on a penny farthing.
Anyone doing it on a pogo stick?

We (Hysterical Cycle Club) were so busy enjoying the ride around Herdsman Lake that we completely forgot to get the Settlers Cottage clues.
Great to see forumites metalrideroz and ColinOldnCranky there. Saw Gazman on the podium, nice wheels! (almost as lound as the shirt and shorts ) Missed you jaseyjase, what wheels were you on?
I was piloting my canary yellow 50's Rotrax... which managed to flat it's back tyre near Dodd St. A spare tube was to hand. And tyre levers, but you get so used to riding bikes with quick release don't you... yep, no spanner. Team-mate Cameron went doorknocking and came back with a loaner!
Toby, congrats on year two of a great event. What can WA BNA'ers do to make it bigger & better in '15?

There was 7 in our group, mainly on cx bikes.
We finished eay too. Got to the second last clue at 915 so we stopped for more coffee.
I reckon it'd be good to have a slightly longer long course next year cos I think there were a few people in the same boat.

First time of us, and we kept on leaving the route to go to the other route clues not realising they wernt meant for us! Pretty much why we kept losing you guys...hahah . i only realised after we had finished that we didnt need to go those clue stops! hahah
agree with a longer route/more clues/questions would be good, opportunity for bigger and better next year!

It needs to be remembered, however, that it is not a race, it is an exercise which tries to cater for all types and ages of cyclists and include some. I think it did that.
The feedback last year was that there were too many questions so Toby must have modified the course to suit.
Maybe we all need to volunteer to assist with next year's planning.
