bottom has fallen out of the flipper market, $175 nowfind_bruce wrote:There is a good chance the frame is cracked anyway. Looks like they had fixed the seatpost issue, but the headtube is the same old poor design & prone to cracking from the top & bottom & past the weld on either side.bychosis wrote:Spotted a bike on gumtree yesterday, like this one. Contemplated buying it, but could find any details online and the ad only said orange road bike, no size or anything. At $120 was probably a fair price. No detail, no idea of size, difficult to arrange pickup meant I held off.
Flippers at work: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/cameron- ... 1041238016" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; now it's $325 24hrs later.

Thanks, FWIW, this is mine. It really is as good as I've written up, and I was meticulous in the rebuild and setup. I'm pretty fussy...koen wrote:Now when this seller says "nice condition for age" that is what you get. Pity its in WArangersac wrote:Very clean looking Superlite

I was really tempted by this one, I'd love to knock up a cheap CX bike but it's just too big.LugNut wrote:And from the other side of the fence...
700c Shogun Ground Breaker running Deore LX. Switch the flat bars with drop bars and it becomes a cheap cyclocross bike or commuter.

Yours probably goes..........mines been in a few bits for while now. I've always wished I could fit on Pantahs so I could own a road going TT2. Pantahs are absolutely brilliant bikes.mark field wrote:best i can do is an 82 Pantah but its a start.morini wrote:Me too.

Also, if Melbournians could keep a little eye out for me...I'd like to have a run in the upcoming Dirty Deeds CX, so if ya spot anything XL that could make a cheap CX bike...!

From the measurements given, I reckon he's lanky, long legs, long arms, but short torso.morini wrote:....and he reckons he's only 185 cm ?????? That frame's massive. I want but can't have.geoff_tewierik wrote:A "barn find" Kenevans for the taller rider.

All very nice, but I should've accentuated the 'cheap' An old Shogun Metro would do me nicely, I have some 9 speed Ultegra bits and a set of wheels and tyres. If I'm going to come dead last, I'd rather do it on a humble ghetto cross build than a Colnago...geoff_tewierik wrote:Probably not your size, but an early '80s Alan CX frameLugNut wrote:Also, if Melbournians could keep a little eye out for me...I'd like to have a run in the upcoming Dirty Deeds CX, so if ya spot anything XL that could make a cheap CX bike...!
