Penrith needs closer velodrome access to get a bit more interest... I reckon something at Stanhope Gardens near the pool would be a good one, puts it in reach of the Hills, Windsor and Blacktown. It's hard, because there are a lot of guys coming down from the mountains, and DGV is a LONG way from them. DGV feels a long way from me in Seven Hills!

DGV is also a fair way from me too (I'm just one suburb away from you). Merrylands is really my closest Velodrome, but I don't know if they even run there on Wednesday nights anymore. Anyhow, I'm a different club to them.

Not many hotels close by. Found Budget 1 Hotel in Preston on booking.com. 3.6km from the venue so not really walking distance...

Can't help you on Thursday as I am at work that day, but could possible pick you up on Saturday if you end up staying close to DISC?

Stanhope would be great. I'm at Quakers ha ha most of our 'mighty ducks' crew is from the North West

Made the trek to DGV for RAW last year and summer series this year. Certainly a lot further to go compared to where I lived in relation to speeddome in Perth!

Had my first taste of A grade last night courtesy of no B grade competitors and our friendly man on the mike, Mr BFV:)

It was a good experience an chance to see how much more work I need to do before RAW.

Managed a 3rd in the scratch but in the process burnt all my matches and the box they were in!

Haha, a dnf in the snowball that came next says the box was at least smouldering! I'm back to my midweek bunch efforts so should hopefully get back to form pretty quick:) still battling to stay with my usual bunch at the moment. I'm still kicking myself for waiting so long to start racing!

I walked the line for him a couple of years ago. Got a look at his schedule. He was riding 102 inches.
foo, your Qld buddy Patten won the pursuit, points race and 150+ teams pursuit at Nationals

You did well. I also forgot to tell you the rule that once you go up, you can't go back. :)

Nice Madison as well, BTW.

He goes alright Ronnie! A gentleman as well.
My best club scratchie finish was sitting on his wheel for a few laps :)

The masters 8 scratch race was M8,9,10+ combined. I was impressed with Des Kidd, who is a M11 rider, only getting dropped with 4 laps to go in what seemed a hot pace for 65+ year olds

Yeah still here. Puts more time in at the track than anyone else by a long shot. I'd love to have even a small part of his enthusiasm if I make it to his age!

Last night indoors at DISC, first race I'm in 3rd wheel and the guy in front of me went down coming out of the turn into the back straight. He got too close to the wheel in front and he steered his front wheel onto the duckboard which then washed out. I had no time to react and went straight over him for a full height somersault. Landed heavily on my left shoulder - not a mark on the helmet but the end result is a broken collar bone! All is aligned so they suggest the conservative approach and just sling. Will look at the possibility of pinning...

Just got my bike back and downloaded the bike computer data - was going 55km/hr at the time...

Saw a sports doctor today - he feels how my bone is lined up that there would be little benefit pinning, but I still organised an appointment with a surgeon on Tuesday for their opinion.

I'd want it pinned. Some of the collarbones I've seen "fix themselves" have turned out shocking.

Mine is plated. Every collarbone that I've seen that wasn't punned or plated has turned out crocked, some even had a narrowed shoulder
