Heya
Wondering if anyone can let me know what is the torque setting (if necessary) for the seat rail clamp on a Giant TCR Advanced 2 (2013).
Usually there should be torque figures next to the bolt itself.
This is the large bolt right under the seat and not the clamp that holds the seatpost.
Searched online high and low but couldn't find an answer.
Here's a picture of the underneath of the seat showing the bolt:
Thanks in advanced.

Hi,
I was really careful with the torque wrench on all other bolts on my TCR (2012, same thing), but I got sick of the saddle slipping backwards so I greased up the bolt and went at it pretty hard with the allen key. It didn't break, and it doesn't slip any more. I don't know how much torque but the allen key left an indent on my hand.
Sorry I couldn't be any more help, but I'd be interested in the answer too.

Saddle rail clamps are generally just done up bloody tight.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

When the bolt starts creaking, an extra half turn

I agree.Duck! wrote:Saddle rail clamps are generally just done up bloody tight.
I had creaking noises coming from the saddle rails and clamp connection on my TCR SL, same clamp I think.
Greased up everything including the bolt, rails and clamp and did it up "bloody tight".
No problems.

Thanks for all the replies. Much appreciated!
I'll just grease it with Shimano grease I've just got from c r c and hand tight it.
Haven't noticed any creaking but being my first carbon roadie, just didn't want to break anything.
