I've had much closer but it will still about 50cm. Was testing out not claiming the lane due to the 1m rule, think I'll go back to claiming.

Is the 1 metre rule in yet? If so, can you report him?InTheWoods wrote:Here's my tailgating and close shave from this morning.

Time to see how serious QPS were about accepting video submissions and issuing fines on the back of them.InTheWoods wrote:Here's my tailgating and close shave from this morning.

Nobody could suggest that was a metre, no doubt at all that it was very close.

2) It's a multi-lane road, no requirement to keep left, the driver can overtake in the next lane.
3) Take the video to your friendly local plod and beat them over the head with rule 146.

Throughout all of this the guy said not one word - just kept the same vacant expression on his face the whole time.

Agree to all these except it's rule 144. Was experimenting to see if close passes would still happen!il padrone wrote:1) Lane is too narrow to share - ride wide, claim the lane.

The roads will be safer for all cyclists if this message got out there to both cyclists and motorists.

I couldn't see on my phone, but it is also a T2 lane yes? I didn't see two people in that car, and the time stamp says 8:30am or so. So, possibly a T2 fine as well.InTheWoods wrote:Here's my tailgating and close shave from this morning.

Only comment....ride wider...in the middle of the lane, which it makes it clear to morons that they can't fit and must change lanes. You are just encouraging them to test their lack of skills with a close shave because they think the lane is 8m wide!

A MOTORCYCLIST has been critically injured in a collision with an alleged drink-driver in Adelaide.
Police say the driver performed a burnout in his Holden sedan in a service station at Seaview Downs on Saturday afternoon before colliding with the motorcycle on the road.
The rider was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre in a critical but stable condition.
The driver, a Dover Gardens man, 62, was breath-tested at the scene.
Police allege he returned a reading of .178, more than three-and-a-half times the legal limit.
He has been charged with aggravated driving without due care, drink driving and causing injury by dangerous driving.
It's expected he will be bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.
