I stumbled across that facebook page the other day, it is absolutely crawling with the most vile ignorant hatred i've ever seen.

Here's my tailgating and close shave from this morning.

I've had much closer but it will still about 50cm. Was testing out not claiming the lane due to the 1m rule, think I'll go back to claiming.

Is the 1 metre rule in yet? If so, can you report him?

Time to see how serious QPS were about accepting video submissions and issuing fines on the back of them.

Nobody could suggest that was a metre, no doubt at all that it was very close.

1) Lane is too narrow to share - ride wide, claim the lane.

2) It's a multi-lane road, no requirement to keep left, the driver can overtake in the next lane.

3) Take the video to your friendly local plod and beat them over the head with rule 146.

Ever had that feeling that you just know that someone is going to do something stupid. Case in point.... (Warning - language alert, again)

Agree to all these except it's rule 144. Was experimenting to see if close passes would still happen!

That, and the fact cowcorner was switched on and anticipated it, good work :) .

THIS.

The roads will be safer for all cyclists if this message got out there to both cyclists and motorists.

I liked the 'Drivers for registration of bicycles' facebook page. All my posts are about those idiot cyclists on their 4 wheel bikes running red lights :P

I couldn't see on my phone, but it is also a T2 lane yes? I didn't see two people in that car, and the time stamp says 8:30am or so. So, possibly a T2 fine as well.

Only comment....ride wider...in the middle of the lane, which it makes it clear to morons that they can't fit and must change lanes. You are just encouraging them to test their lack of skills with a close shave because they think the lane is 8m wide!

Well now I'm banned from posting on that facebook page. Apparently replying to a comment about a pack of cyclists whinging if someone blocked the road with their cars with "can you imagine the look on those cyclists faces as they weave around the parked cars". Must have been the large amounts of current road rules and links to the road rules that they didn't like. I wonder if we could flag the page or something :P

I've tried reporting it. Facebook aren't worried about it. So I'm engaging in an ongoing back and forth with the admin at the moment. We'll see how this goes...

Facebook has appalling standards when it comes to reporting such things. The most aggressive, inflammatory, and potentially violent statements get the OK, yet I was banned for 24 hours on the complaint of some rather namby woman that I was "bullying" her. All I had done was to call her on an error of fact about a road rule matter and used her name in the process.

62yo MM does burnout while drunk then hits motorcyclist

http://www.news.com.au/national/breakin ... public_rss" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A MOTORCYCLIST has been critically injured in a collision with an alleged drink-driver in Adelaide.

Police say the driver performed a burnout in his Holden sedan in a service station at Seaview Downs on Saturday afternoon before colliding with the motorcycle on the road.

The rider was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre in a critical but stable condition.

The driver, a Dover Gardens man, 62, was breath-tested at the scene.

Police allege he returned a reading of .178, more than three-and-a-half times the legal limit.

He has been charged with aggravated driving without due care, drink driving and causing injury by dangerous driving.

It's expected he will be bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court at a later date.

I made some comments on that FB page as well. Nothing derogatory, all common sense. I have been BANNED and all my comments removed. Seems he is not interested in any form of logical debate! Pretty much expected that to happen. It is just a hate page for motorists to denigrate cyclists, pure and simple.
