Hey all- inviting you to join us for CareFlight’s Woodford to Glenbrook 2013 on Sunday 29th June 2014. This is a cycling/running event where the entrants cycle or run the Oaks Fire Trail through the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park. Hi bpcareflight,
lm considering attending this event.
can you confirm that all funds raised go to careflight? my understanding was that all entry fees simply go towards the cost of the event, ie not to careflight. only additional donations make it to careflight.
if the above is true, id rather ride the oaks on any other day and make a $50 donation direct to careflight.
what does the $50 buy the entrant (other than a drink at the drink station)?
what costs does the $50 pay for? (given the event is staffed by volunteers).
thanks.

Yes you are correct. The $50 only covers the cost of running the event. This includes hiring the trailer to pick up the bikes, hiring security and traffic control, providing stickers to the participants, timing services and PA etc. Participants are encouraged to fundraise for us by asking their friends and family to sponsor them.
The event is a fantastic way for bikers to get together as a community and ride for a cause, it's not the same riding the Oaks Trail yourself! However of course it is entirely up to you and if you'd like to donate the $50 direct to CareFlight, that would be greatly appreciated and I can assure you the $50 will go straight into saving more lives.
If you have any more questions, please email me at bronwyn.phu@careflight.org.
