X, Hergest, yes you are quite right, I was talking about Somerville Rd on the other side of the brook...
Never done Crosslands.

Anyone keen for Friday? There is plenty of opportunity to bail out on a number of those climbs, if you want to come but can't handle that much climbing. Probably waiting at the top with me lol
Would start at Sam Riley Drive at 7. It's all day, no point rushing to wake up in the dark.

I like the following. This has more variety.george-bob wrote:I like the dirty dozen:toolonglegs wrote:Bobbo, galston gorge, berowa, out to Brooklyn bridge and then bobbo the other direction on the way back.
Long long time since I have done it.
-bobbo
-crosslands (down the end of somerville in hornsby)
-galston
-berowra
-brooklyn
-berowra
-galston
-crosslands

-crosslands
something like 200km with 4000m of climbing.

-crosslands (down the end of somerville in hornsby)
-galston
-berowra
-Mt White, onto Calga, turn right and then down and up,,,,
-Old Mooney Mooney. This has a nice new surface. Turn around at the top (where the bridge collapse was a few years ago).
-Old Mooney Mooney (southbound)
-Pie in the Sky (Berowra)
-Bobbo
If you are feeling your oats after Pie in the Sky (not me) you can turn right and do the loop back including,,,,,
-Berowra Waters
-Galston Gorge
-Crosslands Reserve (not road)
-Bobbo
Slightly off the OP, one of my favourites is the big loop.
From home venture up the Old Pacific Hwy taking as many gorges in as you choose. After Calga go onto Peats Ridge Rd to Central Mangrove. Descend down Wisemans Ferry Rd past Spencer. Cross the river at Wisemans Ferry and keep going taking the low road, River Rd (not up the Old Nothern Rd). This takes you to the Sackville ferry. Magnificient views all the way, almost car free, good road surface (there is about 1km of good quality gravel). Cross on the ferry to Ebenezer, then back to Windsor and limp back home. About 250km and 3500m. A truly fantastic ride.

If the 200km option is too inconvenient, we could do 6 climbs over 100, should be back by 11

It's my rest day tomorrow - so I'm not doing any riding unless it is flat roads and no more than 50km.
