Most people in this mornings road race would have had some fun with the cross winds. I know I had a few grabs at the bars while pushing 45-55kphredrover3 wrote:Yeah, did Mt Coot-tha in the wind on my Gipi 416s. Big gust at Toowong threw me about 600mm sideways.I would hate to be caught with deep V Rims with these westerlies.

Damage report........One RS helmet, rear wheel looks like it is drunk, skin off in a couple of places and can't walk properly as I took most of the impact on the thigh and hip.

Doh. Thats bloody island traffic for you.foo on patrol wrote:Bloody arsehole car drivers1 This retard, instead of stopping and letting the group go by, charged across to the medium strip and of course the riders in front slammed on the brakes and I was collateral damage from another rider going down. He came down on my back wheel and I was just there for the ride.

Strange how you don't leap up off the ground after a stack like in the younger days.

Decided to have a crack with the bunch but I left a bit later to meet them closer to home. The thinking if things are not right, I don't have as far to ride back home. So long as I just did a steady spin, things weren't to bad but get out of the seat to kick and a reality check was given and the body said sit down you idiot or I will make more pain available to you.
Anyway I got a few ks in before things started going down hill and they could call me soft.

It was a good thing that we weren't a little bit further on as we motor along Avon Avenu at 45-55kmh on the fast rides.
The thigh and hip has coloured up quite well but I now have problems with my groin area and the muscle that runs from the neck to the collar bone.

The body is still not right but at least I could have half a crack in the sprint.

I'm happy with the progress this morning on the recovery front. I cracked 42kmh average for one of the legs and that was after getting dropped 3/4s of the way along it.
