Looks pretty cool with leather bar tape though.

My favorites mirror has been the Mirrycle, for over 30 years, and I use their road mirror on both my road bikes, MTB mirrors on the flat-bars and MTB.
Like the Third Eye BarEnd mirror, they have a 3 inch convex glass screen. The mounting on the levers gives a little more crash protection, but more
vitally, gets the mirror closer to your eye and gives a wider field of view.
Unfortunately, Shimano have made changes in the latest STI levers, and the Mirrycle currently don't have a mount that works for them. The
The Axiom FastFlash might be the next best
on the newest bikes (see GraemeL's post in above thread).

Like:
- flexible arm so can be moved where you want it to get reasonable vision
- glass mirror so clear
- flexible arm to its not going to poke you when you do a face plant, but doesn't wobble
- comes apart without breaking and goes back together after face plant
- easy to attach to helmet and easily detached when you want - has never fallen off - apart from face plant
Dislikes
- it can be a bit fiddly to align
I'd buy another one if I needed another mirror.

Pro:
Really handy for keeping an eye on what's going on up to about 15-20 metres behind you without having to turn your head. Miss it when I get buzzed by cars and other bike riders.
Stays in the place you put it while riding.
Con:
Never really found a position that I was happy with. Either it was occupying my line of sight (and possibly hiding a hazard) or out of the way and a strain to look at.
Tends to move out of place when you put the helmet down somewhere.
Prevents fitting of helmet cover.
Couldn't use it to identify anything (other than headlights) more than 20 metres back

I have not seen this one. Where did you buy yours? The biggest drawback is that I use several different helmets - although I suppose that's not much different to using different bikes and needing a mirror for each one.wob wrote:I'm short sighted, wear glasses and have got one of these

The last con is a bit off-putting. Maybe I'll stick with my Cateye bar-end mirror. It has a large enough mirror to actually see what's behind you properly.FiveDaysAWeek wrote:I used a Zefal-Z-Eye mirror (http://www.this link is broken/Zefal-Z-Eye-Mirror_251" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) for most of last year until the adhesive failed. Still in two minds about it, and haven't got around to attaching it to my new helmet yet.
