Who will win the Giro d'Italia in 2014 ?

Postby find_bruce » Tue May 06, 2014 10:18 am

Bragging rights, get your bragging rights. Will it be the grand tour veteran Evans ? Will Quintana be able to limit his loses in the time trials to play to his strengths in the mountains ?Can Uran step out of the shadow and seize his time in the sun ? Has the sun set on former champions Basso & Hesjedal?

All will be revealed over the next three weeks.

The rules are simple - you get one vote, but can change your mind, and polling closes before the first mountain stage, Stage 8: Saturday, May 17: Foligno – Montecopiolo on Saturday, May 17

Quintana all the way. This is his blooding before going on to the TdF next year. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins this and then backs up for (and wins) the Vuelta at the end of the year.

Nope, it rarely is the fastest rider. The one who completes the course in the shortest time would be almost correct, but I think they're using time bonuses again this time around, so it's not necessarily true. I'm fun at parties.

Quintana is not as bad as people say in a TT and is improving, if he has prepared like he did before last years TDF and the mountain stages don't get shortened due to poor weather he should skip away with this race. So hard to pick a winner for this Giro

Quintana is an interesting one though I am wondering the gruelling and methodical Tour de France is more suited to his style whereas the Giro is more tempramental (you could say a little Italian). Still, an easy fellow to like.

Into the naughty corner with you Clackers - IIRC even alluding to that photo was a sin bin offence.
