Seems like mainly coastal "wetness" in the latest forecast. Maybe hang around Parra, PVC, SOP, M4, etc?

It's the Campsie Food Festival this Saturday so a ride that ends up there for lunch might be worth thinking about!

Well, as I'm stuck in Adelaide all this week for work, I know I'll be desperate for a ride come Saturday morning.

So, any takers for a ride on Saturday? I'm open to suggestions as far as routes go...

Dubbo, Adelaide, talk about jet setters living the high life :D For some reason I have a Paul Kelly song running through my head
All the king's horses all the king's men
Wouldn't drag me back again
to Adelaide, Adelaide, Adelaide, Adelaide...
Don't think anyone wrote a song about Dubbo.

Sunday works for me, Sat not looking so good though

Would join you guys but exams are coming up.

But here's a route for this month's retro ride from SOP to Parra, down through Bass Hill all on bike paths, then back to SOP via quiet local roads. We'll jump onto the Lansdowne crit track if there aint any racing on, otherwise itll be the Dunc Gray Velodrome crit track a bit further down. Itll be closer 50km as the cycle paths are a bit broken on maps. Food/coffee stop at Bass Hill Plaza(cafe, Hungry Jacks, etc) if wanted, or itll be back in SOP.

The 28th is club championships at Lansdowne. Start early, so you might be able to have a ride there between LACC and Bankstown using it.

Sorry for breaking in on the ride organization thread guys.

It's with a heavy heart that I'm turning off pedals to my lugged steel fleet and boxing up the better bikes in anticipation of my family's move back to Alaska. Andy, thanks for the call and I'm sorry I missed it. You are a great bunch of friends and I was lucky to share the Sydney paths with you. I'll save this on-line community the trouble of two good-bye messages and not double post on the retro thread but wanted to thank you all for your hospitality. For what it's worth, the bikes you saw here and on the retro forum will get a chance to stretch their legs in the frozen North soon enough and I'll post the odd picture now and then. I've got some really old bikes back home (Anchorage) that I'll try to get road worthy and a couple of old MTBs that will certainly be worth a picture or two. My work schedule has prevented much saddle time but I still sneak in a few spins on the stationary trainer in the garage on that painfully green Blue Mountain road-side find. Once I get studded snow tires on its 27 inch rims I'll post a snow shot for your enjoyment.

Thanks again for showing me and my wife some great paths and sharing some great rides; I will miss you guys but will keep this site bookmarked.

Sincerely,

Joe H

Goodbye Joe. It was good to see some of your lovely bikes on the times you rode with us. Too bad you didnt get to see my Kestrels in person, but we'll see each others' bikes in the retro section I guess.

Twas a pleasure to ride with Shannon & yourself Joe. All the best for your return to the last frontier. Be nice if you had time for a farewell ride, but I understand if you can't

Cheers
