Hey I'm looking at getting a train down to nerang sometime next week and riding to Australia fair. I was looking in the map and it looks like the best route is along southport nerang rd, do any locals or people who have ridden the area have any suggestions?
I will be riding during the middle of the day on a weekday

You'll be fine. Wide shoulders and bike lanes pretty much all the way there. It gets a bit tight near Australia fair but just mount the footpath as you'll have to anyway to cross at the lights.
