I have that Union stand and was very impressed with the quality for the price. Cant remember what I paid but I would recommend it, much sturdier than I was expecting for the price.

I am still tossing up between this Union stand and just waiting for an Aldi stand. The only thing I am worried about the Aldi stand is there is no quick release lock. Does this make it harder to clamp the bike as you have to wind the clamp on?. Also how portable is it?

i have a work stand from c r c... i need to unwind the quick release to fit the frame in/out between the jaws anyway.

That is a nice bit of kit Biciboy. And I do find myself going "well if I am going to spend 90 bucks on the T7 stand i might as well spend 130 and get the PCS-9"

Then again I am cheap , so always looking for the cheapest option to get away with. I dont intend on doing anything "major" as I dont have the experience so figured a cheap stand will suit the purposes of cleaning and minor alternations

Unless someone has a MASSIVE sale on Park Tool/Feedback or Tacx stands soon of course

Cell bikes is having some crazy cheap Vittoria Zaffiro 700x25c wirebead tyres on their clearance list, not going to be useful if you are racing, but good for commuting and training rides.
