Ah, zoomed in on that Strava route, those topo lines are quite close :) . The 39-32 is enough for the Obi but a bail out probably wouldn't go astray on that distance. Sand blaster ahoy!

Sorry, I have seen it on Google street maps... It looks steep on that.
Yea and who was the one who left me for dead in Binna Burra? :) EDIT: both up and down!

You lot can get nicked! (Jason told me to say that). In all seriousness, looks a little much for me. Maybe if I had a 32t cassette to add to my compact, or if i had a bike with a triple. Even then you blokes would probably be climbing too fast for me...

Actually have the day to myself on Saturday, may do a rerun of last week's Coot Tha/Nebo/Glorious/Gap Creek Rd/Brookfield but add in Gap Creek and Coot Tha again on the return from Brookfield. Should bring it past 4000m which will be the most I've done in a ride before. Anyone else welcome, will most likely start from Indooroopilly bridge around 6ish, maybe earlier.

Fair enough. If circumstances change let me know. Am planning to do breakfast at Glorious on way back from the Radio Tower and a pie at Brookfield stores before the return to Gap Creek Rd. Steady pace (last time it was about 24.5 av including an "I'm late" faster bit from Brookfield to Indro via Kenmore and Fig tree pocket. Going back via GC Rd and Coot tha will lower it some more).

So something like this but cut back to Robina earlier via Worongary Rd or if ur feeling great The Panorama

Well and truly out of my league.
But if you do get up to the BOA, it is only a short walk to the lookout, from where you can see the Byron Lighthouse quite clearly in the distance (if the weather is clear).

I actually would like to do BOA one day. Got to get a bigger cassette though. Actually I need to work up to that sort of thing. Quite keen to do some different climbs this winter rather than just my usual haunts. Might do O'Reillys sometime soon if anyone is interested. Any other suggestions welcome, I'd like to explore some more!

Steve if you're up for Saturday let me know. Similar deal to Harrisville only a lot easier to get to. Last week's version ended up being 160km, I would think with GC Rd/Coot Tha twice it would probably be around 180km this time from Indro bridge.

I see what you did there, doesn't look to bad. Have ridden most of the course except the gravel behind Mt Warning.

Still adds up when you consider I'll be riding to and from there and last time I checked Murwillumbah wasn't like riding to and from Nundah on a bicycle :P

And just in case anyone is able/willing (pretty unlikely i'm assuming :) ), i've decided to test out the new brake pads and triple cranks by stopping at Kilcoy on the way to Brisbane to ride from there to Jimna and back. 80k all up, one small climb, one big climb and then downhill all the way back. Should soften the legs up nicely for Sunday :) .
