A good one to follow. I guess C. Froome should repeat this year but it will be interesting to see what Nibali and Contador will bring to the mountain stages.

Can't get the kids inspired to go into Lyon to watch the prologue ... oh well I need to pack anyway. Looking at the route the TT finishes with the Croix Rousse tunnel, one of the best bit of cycling infrastructure you will ever see, going to be warm tomorrow so nearly 2 kms in a tunnel might be nice .

What a stage tonight (stage 2). Several attacks from Froome but couldn't drop Contador although at the end Froome crossed the finishing line in first place with the Spanish unable to get pass for the win and claim 10 s bonus.
Froome looks strong and Contador close second. Nibali was dropped in the final km and Kelderman surprised with a good perfomance and several attacks and was the last one to be dropped by Froome/Contador.

+1 amazing attacks by Froome. Nibali has some work to do and Porte cracked early. Unless it is an aberration it may have consequences for the TdF. Great ride by Adam Yates to come in 8th.

I totally agree, Let's wait for next hill top finishes to see if Porte is up to the challenge.

Froome 'needs' to win everything, and 'dominate' his opponents. Contadour will play a long game.

Personally I think Froome is scared of giving an inch, and looks a little insecure because of it. Time will tell, I guess.

I've enjoyed watching the live feed on SBS this week of the Dauphine. For mine it has everything, lively attacking racing through a gorgeous alpine backdrop, finishes at a reasonable hour instead of the very late Giro or TdF stages that wreck you for next day and I find eight stages is just enough unlike a 3 week GT that tends to go on too long. So kudos to SBS and let's hope the cut in their budget does not affect their cycling programming.

Yep. Contador's good form is certainly continuing. Froome was clearly in hurt locker last night and that was with Nieve and Porte helping for a good part of the climb. At least it's looking as if the tour shouldn't be a one man show.

Contador must have over estimated Froome's ability to chase. Then again Sky had that guy out front so that should have been a sign that they knew Froome wasn't strong.

Contador needed a team to perform for him today. He had to go solo for twenty odd k's to bridge the gap.
Shame the showdown with Froome didn't eventuate, he was really suffering.Well done Talansky for taking the chance. Race dynamics allowed him to get the jump on Contador. That isn't something Rogers will let happen.
