A friend has one and I used it to service his bike. Frankly, it was disappointing. My Spin Doctor was a lot more expensive but a pleasure to use.fergy1987 wrote:So many mixed reviews for the aldi stand. Who knows what to buy now lol

For the coin, the Aldi stand is terrific. No doubt a Park Tool stand would be better, but also much pricier...fergy1987 wrote:I am still tossing up between this Union stand and just waiting for an Aldi stand. The only thing I am worried about the Aldi stand is there is no quick release lock. Does this make it harder to clamp the bike as you have to wind the clamp on?. Also how portable is it?
I've only time I've had an issue with the non-QR clamps slipping is when clamping the full-sus MTB on an odd angle to get the rear brake line as close to vertical as possible for bleeding- never a problem with the roadie.
Being steel and a four-leg design, it's very stable - but not super portable due to weight. Still packs up small enough to go into the car if you want to take it to races etc though.

Mulger bill wrote:The only thing I have about the Aldi stand is the clamps inability to hold an unbalanced load at a specific angle but seeing as I bought it solely to sit on my locker at work just in case I can live with it for so few dollars.
Agree with this. I need to get a BB/fork stand and a better workstand.

Fair call. I didn't know they were still completely in the UK, website is deceptivepetal665 wrote:They are in the UK, what is ACCC going to do? I'm logged in and it says shipping to Australia.
Stuff em. I find their range to be awful and their prices don't justify the poor range.

If anyone has a 20% that they're not going to use please let me know, as I'm looking to pick up some ortlieb back roller plus panniers from there today or tomorrow. I had ordered them from bike24, who informed me after I'd placed the order that they're no longer allowed to ship Ortlieb to Australia.
[edit] Got one, thanks neild!
