FOUND: Old Carbon Giant Road Bike

Postby WarbyD » Thu Jun 19, 2014 10:27 am

All,

I found an older carbon framed giant road bike with a mixed Shimano groupset, tossed unceremoniously on a bush adjacent to the Kwinana Fwy PSP this morning, north of Canning Hwy. I looked for signs of an owner nearby (swimming? taking a leak in other bushes?) but couldn't see any sign of anyone so I am *assuming* it may have been stolen from Canning Bridge train station and then dumped after the thief decided it was more effort than it was worth perhaps?

This bike seemed too nice to be left to the vultures, so I have taken it further along the PSP to where I could lock it up with my spare cable lock. If anyone happens to own, or know the owner of, this bike please get in touch with me - Provide a description of the bike and I will tell you exactly where it is and the code to the combination lock so that you can collect it. If I don't hear anything by the end of today I will pick it up after work and take it to the local police station.

I was chatting to a rider at the lights on Labouchere/Mill Pt. Rd this morning and he mentioned he had found a bike in the dirt just off the PSP so he moved it out of the way and onto a bush. He said it was 'really light' and thought it was too nice a bike to be left on the path.

I didn't notice it (it was still dark at this stage), but I'm glad he moved it off the path.

I hope you find an owner!
