Anyone heading to Albany for this? Apparently it is on this weekend ...
Sport and Recreation Minister Terry Waldron said the adventure cycling event would have riders starting in the hills of Mount Clarence above scenic Princess Royal Harbour, and racing through the historic streets of Albany’s CBD to ANZAC Peace Park.
“This event will allow the people of Albany to watch and experience the exciting sport of mountain bike racing in a local setting,” he said.
The event will take place on Sunday June 22, 2014 with up to 120 riders expected to take part.
“Riders will be coming from all over Australia to compete in this high-speed downhill race which will make the most of both Albany’s hills and the historic urban features,” Mr Waldron said.

I think John put up a post about this, but he doesn't have to travel!

This was posted on WestCycle's Facebook earlier this week:
Looks like a great event.
I did ask:
Looks similar to my daily commute on the PSP's. When will WestCycle start advocating improvements to the PSP and truly representing the commuting cyclist in WA?
But no response at this time.

The weather was dreadful. Wet and windy so I unfortunately didn't get down to see any of it.
It was badly advertised here. I doubt too many even knew of it let alone the course and good spectator spots.
That was another reason I stayed home, not knowing where to go and nobody seemed to be able to tell me.
I'd have loved to see the jump from the pedestrian bridge. Hopefully we may see something on Youtube later.
