The other day I picked up a Diamindback Expert roadie on the bay with a similar flouro tiger stripe paint job. I always wanted a Diamondback Axis mtb years ago but this is the closest I'll get I think :) As an aside note Diamondback road bikes were previously Centurions.

There are ways to make it a fixie but an anchor would be my choice

Apparently 94 ish Stumpjumper. IMO it's neither old enough or new enough to be interesting but it might be someone's cup of tea.

Damn...why did I look at that. $80 just seems too cheap for a pretty red Fisher. But I'm not bidding a cent more!!

Okay...so I bought it and thought it would make a nice town bike with light carbon forks I have already but now that seems a waste. It is reeally heavy. bare frame 3kg.
When I first looked at it I momentarily was hopeful as it has a sticker "Designed USA Gary Fisher Product Team Aluminium" but its actually unmarked steel. Has had some older parts of a deore group on it which I fixed up well. The front mech was a hack job though using an unsual top pull conversion that didn't really work.

With a new seatpost and cleaned up parts painted with that anodised looking paint. Waiting on a few other bits to finish it.

Holy mackerel that cleaned up well, what did you use on it?

I'm just looking through the bay again this morning, the only old MTB of note is this Giant Iguana. Nothing fancy but damn that's a lot of rake.
