G'day all.
Our mountain bike club is looking into buying a new timing system to run our XC, Gravity Enduro and possibily Downhill events.
We are leaning towards the US made Jaguar platinum system as it looks the most user friendly. Our old system is very complex and certainly not user friendly, it was used with mixed success by a member that has now moved away and the only people left that had anything to do with it are struggling more than ever with running this system.
We have been promised 10k from our local MP (though we are not holding our breath ) so at this stage that is what our budget is.
We need somthing easy enough to learn in a few hours, quick to set up, with online entry and results and cater for around 500+ riders.
Interested in getting peoples experences in using and competing in events with modern timing systems.

The cycling club I was a part of in Mildura has this system. http://www.mylaps.com/en
The Victorian Vets have the same system and I hired a chip for a tt on the weekend.
It is not cheap but pretty user friendly and reliable. The chips are pretty small and unobtrusive, better than some others I've seen. Easy to simply cable tie to the fork leg.

Freelap is a system support in Australia. I can't provide any details on how it works except to say there are different options and equipment configurations. Best to have a look here: www.freelapaustralia.com.au (tell them Christopher from BNA referred).

Get in touch with CORC, they recently adopted an electronic timing system.
