Thanks for the lead, just bought 2 frames (FS MTB for next summer and a flat bar roadie for commuting) and another guy here at work bought a 29er MTB! Both my frames for under $200!dominicj wrote:AvantiPlus Preston have a heap of NOS Avamti frames (most ex. forks) for <$200.

BTW, I spoke to my local AvantiPlus and they are in the process of chasing up a matching fork. Looks like the total cost will be in the range of $350 for frame and fork.

My 20/24 set is on its way thanksusernameforme wrote:BDOP cycling are offering some DIY wheels - great value. Works out to about $287AUD with the ABG upgrade Sourcing these parts myself would cost me close to $400! Only thing to be aware of is that you'll have to build them yourselves/get a shop to do it... IMO that's a plus
Recieved mine and the package came in at 1607g on the kitchen scales (20/24). Very impressive for a 23mm wide and 28mm deep rim!

For reference a truing stand can be had for around $45 http://www.cyclingdeal.com.au/buy/bike- ... AhFS8P8HAQ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You can use a bike frame or the yellow/white pages as an improvised dishing tool.

Picked up a 29" for myself and a 26" for the other half. Under $200 delivered to NSW.
Now to get all the components. I'm totally lost though. Don't know my mtb gear like I do my roadie!

Plus their shipping is awesome. I've has stuff arrive in 3 days before. Almost always within a week.2ndeffort wrote:Ribble has a 10% off code to celebrate the end of the tour TDF10 For loads of components their prices are already the best I can find, an extra 10% off makes it a no-brainer. Bought myself a load of stuff for building up the cheap frames from earlier in the week.

Thats alright. The discount code doesn't apply to groupsets anywayMulger bill wrote:Yeah, shame every groupset below Ultegra is always out of stock.2ndeffort wrote:Ribble has a 10% off code to celebrate the end of the tour TDF10 For loads of components their prices are already the best I can find, an extra 10% off makes it a no-brainer. Meh, I'd be reasonably happy paying their going rate for 105...singlespeedscott wrote:Thats alright. Picked up 2 29er frames for $100 and I might head back to grab a dually to play with (dually monstercross?). Frame prices are ridiculous - makes me wonder what wholesale is?2ndeffort wrote:Thanks for the lead, just bought 2 frames (FS MTB for next summer and a flat bar roadie for commuting) and another guy here at work bought a 29er MTB!
