are hydros back in circulation now? / when will they be?

Giant switched to selling them with cable discs whilst SRAM was sorting their poop out. They knocked the price down as a result also. Only recently they've begun selling with hydro, although they're doing a number of deals on cable bikes to get rid of them as it's a hell of lot cheaper than the labour to switch back to hydro.

ahhh. wish i had a look before i bought my CX, i just assumed the TCX was out of my budget.

yep! i've heard of quite a few sets of Red 22 hydro and S700 hydro's being replaced and now used.

damn! still more than i wanted to spend, but it'd probably have splurged for the Adv 1, love the look of it.

i've not actually seen any for sale, but i know the warranty replacements are being issued, so presumably once they are fulfilled stock will trickle in.
there is a set of S700's on ebay though, warranty replacement.

My hefty Surly Crosscheck. I found out the other day that frame and fork are close to 3kg!
Started with some random shimano 9spd bits inc bar end shifter but currently has 105 10spd with crappy tektro onyx brakes, fulcrum racing 7cx wheels and schwalbe CX pro tyres. Had rapid robs on to begin with which were slightly bigger but significantly heavier.

It's acceptable in current guise... But I'll probably swap it over to campag 10 speed so I can share commuting wheels with the roadie and hence consolidate my stable of bikes.

2 CX races and about 500km of commuting completed so far. Still a work in progress! I started with a budget bike since I'd never raced CX or mtb before. Now I love it and am wishing I just dropped 1500 or so on a nicer machine up front - but where's the fun in that?

The Cross Check is only hefty because you clearly are not.

I just picked up some Kinesis carbon forks (~$200) to pull a bit more weight off my Scott and give some front end compliance (plus I need the Scott alloy forks for the Ghettograveller which has a 1-1/8 threaded fork whose A-head converter is trying to kill me).

Wow... Not bad at all. I figure the TCX SLR1 wouldnt be too bad at that price, but the TCX Advanced is a step up again. Nice buying!

The TCX Advanced & SLR's are now being advertised with Sram S700 Hyd Disks again. The Focus Mares AX1 I was considering also has the Sram S700's.

playing musical wheels, trying to diagnose if it's just a bloody heavy wheelset that makes the CX bike feel sluggish before i order something like Kinesis Crosslight CX Disc's. kinda tempted to keep them on there now!

yep, and at 1550g they're lighter than my carbon wheels. and they've just come back in stock. (presumably out of stock everywhere as they seem fantastic for the price)
i didn't want to buy anything else for this bike, but i think some lighter wheels are needed.

I have a Merida CX4. I picked up a second set of wheels of these forums and I have fitted Continental GP4000s to them. When I started out commuting I had some Schwalbe Marathon Pluses, however I am now using those predominantly as a winter tyre.

If I manage to bite the bullet and get a carbon wunderkind roadie, the GP4000s will be used for that and the CX4 will either have the puncture proof SMPs or some off-road knobbies on.
